David Choffnes

Assistant professor – College of Computer and Information Science

David Choffnes is an assistant professor in the College of Computer and Information Science, and a member of the Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute at Northeastern University. His research on privacy focuses on identifying personal information leaks in network traffic via the ReCon project, which has applications to mobile and IoT devices, home networks, and enterprise networks. His research provided the data behind a critically acclaimed documentary film (Harvest) and his privacy work been supported by the Data Transparency Lab, Department of Homeland Security, and the Comcast Innovation Fund.
