Andrei Sambra is a researcher and Web engineer whose interests revolve around anything related to decentralisation, ranging from identity and authentication, to access control and data ownership. He is currently Tech Lead at Qwant
, where he is involved in projects related to privacy and data ownership. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Université Pierre et Marie Curie (France).
Before Qwant, Andrei lead the Solid project at MIT alongside Prof. Tim Berners-Lee, the founder of the World Wide Web. He also worked at the W3C where he participated in the development of Web standards on topics around identity, authentication and also Semantic Web technologies.
