Nick Diakopoulos

Assistant Professor – University of Maryland, College Park Philip Merrill College of Journalism Director of the Computational Journalism Lab – UMD.

Diakopoulos is an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park Philip Merrill College of Journalism and also Director of the Computational Journalism Lab at UMD. His research is in computational and data journalism with emphases on algorithmic accountability and social computing in the news. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the School of Interactive Computing at Georgia Tech where he co-founded the program in Computational Journalism. Before UMD he worked as a researcher at Columbia University, Rutgers University, and CUNY studying the intersections of computing, information science, and journalism.

Thank you all for participating in our Grants Program. The quality of the projects submitted has been amazing and the Committee will decide the awarded projects on June 22th. As soon as the Committee has taken the final decision we will announce the projects awarded with the sum of 50,000€ and the projects that will receive a travel grant to attend DTL Conferences 2017 in november in Barcelona.
